Party at the Pier, the gala kick-off celebration for NECA 2008 Chicago, was already shaping up to be a blast. But the event will have some extra sparkle with a special firework display over Lake Michigan right from Navy Pier at 9 p.m., Sat., Oct. 4. NECA attendees will have some of the best seats on Navy Pier for the spectacular display, and we’re thrilled to share this special event with you. Fireworks will start around 9 p.m., just as the opening reception is winding down, and hotel shuttles will run for NECA 2008 Chicago registrants until 10 p.m. A word of caution: the city is expecting extra traffic from the fireworks show to slow traffic by 15-20 minutes, meaning the return trip from Navy Pier to the downtown hotels will take up to 50 minutes. We hope you’ll decide to take advantage of this opportunity and take in the spectacular scene of fireworks over the water from our special vantage point on Navy Pier!
